Back in Mid to late November I worked on a project for a company that I do some jobs for, The Pewterscribe. This particular job was outside of my normal work for them in my 3D background.
The goal was to produce something that would push my skills and be a practical object when completed. To this end a Leather Tankard was agreed on, which I got control over the carving. The carving that was picked was a tattoo from a video game character. This design was the Dragon Tattoo that Kazuma Kiryu (The Dragon of Dojima), from the Ryu Ga Gotoku franchise Yakuza (rebranded as Like a Dragon) has.
Although this has now formally been revealed, I am pleased to be able to post it here and add it to some of the things that I can share. There are some aspects that I wish I had altered or changed with this project, however these were not apparent until I had started to Paint the design, and by that time it was too late. The biggest thing that I would like to have changed would have been to add the Scales to the Dragon, however this would have been an extremely difficult thing to do with the tools that I had available and with the different sizes of scales the amount of tools needed would have been a too much. The only option left would have been to manually carve each scale and as illustrated in the comparison image there are a lot of scales.
